The guy behind the camera

I’m Erik. I build stuff, break stuff, film all of it and tell you what actually held up.

Erik Duijsens at camp in the Utah desert with his Jeep Cherokee XJ and rooftop tent

Cars got me a long time ago. I’ve always loved being around them, and back in the day that meant some street racing too. Later I got behind the camera and got to film for TRC, shooting some of the fastest builds out there.

Then I moved to Utah and found off-road. These days I’m in Hurricane, right next to Zion, building a 305K-mile 1995 Jeep Cherokee into a budget overlander, riding a GasGas ES 500, and crewing Baja races for friends whenever I can get down there.

Everything on this site comes from something I actually built, installed or used. The how-tos are written from my own photos and footage, step by step, with the exact parts I used. I speak English and Spanish.

How I shoot

Sony A7IV and A7III bodies, a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for run-and-gun, a DJI Avata 2 for the FPV stuff and a Ronin RS3 for the smooth shots. Everything gets edited on a Mac Studio in my office, which doubles as the studio.
